This project will result in a predictive model for a technology industry based on open data available from Statistics Canada, Alberta or other government and non-government sources. It will enable companies within the specific industry to be aware of industry and economic trends and enable them to plan company strategic priorities accordingly.

Deliverables

Students will:

  1. Capture user requirements regarding industry forecasting
  2. Create a Use Case for industry forecasting
  3. Flow Chart the model processes
  4. Develop the model
  5. Test the model and
  6. Complete the working model to produce forecasts
Mentorship

Students will have access to professionals: lead developer, business analyst, project manager, systems administrator as well as a development cloud site (stack: Linux, PostgreSQL, python, Django, React). Data sources include government open data sites.
